It is a great, secret place to stay in Unawatuna. The jungle garden is a miracle in the middle of such a crowded town. Rooms are designed with respect to the tradition. Beds are ok with mosquito nets. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good (real bread not an industrial toast, great marmalade). We really liked the design of rooms and the availability of verandas and other places you can spend time - garden tables and sunbeds. The old house has its consequences - there are sometimes lizards and mosquitos coming there and the floor is natural, but this was totally fine for us. You can have yoga class every day in a great round building in the garden. This is a really great option!

A beautiful serene space in lush gardens across the road from a glorious beach. We loved the location and serenity of the property. After being on a scorching hot beach for the day it was a delight coming back to our cool and calm room which was very comfortable. The yoga dome in the garden was an added bonus and I was able to do a class each morning followed by breakfast on the balcony. So so lovely. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great and filtered water was always available. In fact we left to move to Galle yesterday and had I realized how close it was to Galle in retrospect we should have just stayed at Secret Garden and done a side trip into Galle. Highly recommend.

This is a really magical place, located in the centre of Unawatuna, some 50m from the beach, bars, shops and restaurants, yet quiet and serene enough to allow you to wind down after a long day. Hidden in a lush, tropical garden, it really is an oasis of tranquility. The staff were amazing, always there to help us and to cater to our needs. The room (or chalet, I should say) was large, clean, well-equipped and beautifully decorated, the breakfasts were fantastic and the yoga class in the morning (extra charge) was a cherry on the top.

This is a gem of a place to stay. The hosts are wonderful. There is a real family sense to the hotel. It's a great little find. It's close to the beach and restaurants. i would easily spend a few weeks staying at this hotel. Now, even though we booked for 4 nights in this hotel, we only stayed 2 maybe 3 nights - that's because my wife got sick when we were there. Nothing to do with this hotel, but she had Dengue Fever, so we ended up spending a night in a local hospital. I certainly had no expectation on Secret Garden to do anything for us, but they went above and beyond to support us. they called and checked in on us while we were in the hospital and they were courteous and informative about my wife's condition. Although, it had been a tough few days with illness for my wife, we were so glad that we were in Secret Garden when it happened. We felt very looked after.

This is a little peaceful paradise - it is magical. If you want to experience a secret piece of magic away from the hustle and bustle of Unawatuna, away from the crowds, enter the secret garden and be prepared to feel cosy, at home, welcomed and looked after. …and join a yoga class at 9am while you are at it! 💕☺️ the yoga hall is also fairytale-like!

The breakfast was good and had many surprises, like avocado, passionfruit,mango. The garden is like paradise. The staff is very dedicated to their job and makes you feel at home. The home is a very nice decorated home with many antiques.

Very personal connection to the staff. Beds were comfortable and clean. Spacious bathroom. A lot of green around. More on the quiet side even though it is close to the main road.

The property is situated right across the beach and on the most happening street. Absolutely loved the fact that it is tucked in and around beautiful coastal vegetation. The staff here is super helpful and cheerful. The owner of the property - Simona, is somebody I would look upto for being so lively all the time. Such a beautiful lady! It has all the amenities you would need in a homestay. I would definitely stay here again!
